Hey seller survival dispatch I'm here With my friend gin wow friend Remy Friend Jim Cannon which is the coolest Name ever and uh we're gonna talk about 22s I know you've seen some videos of me Doing some 22s so I'm gonna try to go Through a gamut And talk about a 22 crease [Music] All right so let's talk a little bit About 22s Um I'm always looking at stuff from the Survival perspective can it be used for Survival situations Um this gun Was my oldest daughter's Savage Youth And I've probably killed more squirrels With this gun than any and animals with Than anything else how much you think That weighs Maybe two pounds and you know as a basis For reference how much is that way oh More heavier you know I don't know I Know how much but it's heavier so when It comes to going backpacking and Feeding yourself with squirrels or Rabbits It's kind of hard to argue against this So I got this from my oldest like I said And then I ran into this at the store And this is the same gun with the bull Barrel that I can put a suppressor on a Bipod a crap scope but it still works It's left-handed but so is my
Five-year-old So this is the next variant right Um now I I think this is a better Survival gun than this and I have this For my kids to go shooting with right Um we've got a couple other 22s we can Talk about This is the Desert Tech Trek 22. Um it is just a 1022 Ruger in a SBR yeah But Not us BR I'm sorry it's not an SBR yeah It's a Bullpup gotcha the 10 20. I do That all the time it's a 1022 Ruger Bullpup but like this kind of Illustrates all that I could ever say About that right it's legal to purchase Because it's not an svr and it's shorter Than this child's Baby gun right now it's gonna weigh a Little more sure but not much more than An actual Ruger 10 22 and this one's got a a bull Barrel on it Treated I guess not that different But that's heavier sure for sure yeah Harley gives the bowl barrel and there's Ammunition in the stock but also there's Ammunition Vol stocks so I got 20 rounds There and I got I think 30 rounds on That one it's right here oh yeah on top Gonna lay it down a little bit so they Don't fall out Yeah there's 30 rounds there
Uh point is like I can kind of see QB This guy really well I can put a Suppressor on the tip of it we can throw The suppressor on it fits in a smaller Backpack too and I saw this comment on The last video when I demoed this that These were losing the zero I didn't initially notice it because a Lot of the stuff I'm shooting in this With or 25 50 meters maybe but yes when You do pop the barrel off of a Backpacker gun you can lose your zero Just a little bit just enough because The scope isn't attached to that front Barrel with this match grade barrel Barrel that I just got off eBay I have Less of a zero loss but I have zero zero Loss with this guy so that's kind of a Positive again it's Way shorter Um I put a suppressor on both of them I'm going to lose my zero less with this One when this one's broken all the way Down It is shorter but I can't pop it out and Shoot it Yeah right obvious speed difference There so I guess what we're trying to Illustrate here is When it comes to 22s That's my idea of the ultimate survival Related game Getters if I'm being honest I use this more than anything else yeah That's pretty killer yeah literally just
A second say that again it's pretty Killer Okay so Um it's suppressed it's got a red dot It's got a light I've unscrewed this so It won't turn itself off in my bag But this little short barrel I'm easily Hitting small Scrolls at 75 meters I was Shooting them in the uh In a field with chunks of dirt and I get Out my Rangefinder for my bow it's about 75 meters just clipping them and that's Not a huge distance But come on right the coolest shot I've Ever seen in my life was with with one Of those a buddy of mine I might name His name for some guy doing something Illegal illegal maybe they pulled over Uh I was in the car in front of him he Was behind me and I saw something moving We're excited about that and kill it Whatever it is I jump out and start Running toward it to go hunt it down and Whatever it was and he just sat in his Driver's seat rolled his passenger Window down and plinked it was a badger And you smoking one shot at 100 yards That's awesome from his truck and that's Doable especially with the Red Dot and Yeah the theory from This Gun For Me Came from the Special Operations uh sear Instructors back in the day about in the 90s ish we're making these guns called Race dragons
Um they're a similar setup they just put A big scope and then they put a legit Mini Mag flashlight with a clamp on the Bottom of it and then suppressed it they Were taking deer down they were feeding Themselves on the regular and I like That because Um I have a chest rig uh Hill People Gear if I take the suppressor off this Will fit in it in the big one yeah or I Can throw this in the backpack I've got Two backpacks over there and it's just Like a toss in the back gun and forget It's there until I decided I want to eat Something yeah right okay so those those Are some 22 ideas There's one cooler 22 that you can throw In your backpack and grab It's a little bit heavier though huh so There's this guy so this is obviously Not a survival gun at all we're gonna go Out of that ballpark this is uh this is A zermat remix so formerly known as Bighorn it's a Remington 700 pattern Action so it takes their triggers and Chassis and stuff but yeah this way is Uh about 22 pounds Oh yeah I just grab it I literally have Weights inside it okay yeah that was Deceptive yeah so I know what I want to Like you pick up a 50 cal it's about 35 Pounds yeah it's heavy heavy this is not There but it's close and I I look at it Because it looks all skeletonized yeah
And then I pick it up and I'm like holy Crap but also the reason it's all There's weights here the way inside Under the under table channel it's Balance yeah that's why I can I can hold This nice and comfortably and so we Shoot from we have these bags we shoot From right here and it just balances Clearly it's a setup to your head not Mine but yeah yeah So yeah it's a lot of scope it's a lot Of a lot of everything but uh it's Should we shoot something with it real Quick let's do it I'm doing that let me Get some ammo set up You don't want to run my trash Ammunition through it my Walmart Specials Okay I'm zero that's 50. yes I'm gonna Say shoot that 50 Bullseye we'll see We'll embarrass you through your way a Little bit that would be hard I will hit The white the far right one yeah that's Legitimately actually A Like it looks like a giant gun right Yeah but you got these little 20 like Actual 22. yep So 10 round mag there's five red Extensions I run two Now what's special about those bullets Uh so these uh it's made by Lapua Okay what special bottom so if you feel It it's got lubricant on it you feel
That oh yeah it feels like I would say feels like graphite it's It's actually like more like an oil Though it is it is a wet lubricant yeah It's not dry which maybe they should try That I think but Um these Chambers on these guns are a Little tight sometimes and it just AIDS Feeding and ejecting Um Vargas extracting so other than that How are those uh rounds different They're extremely consistent that's it's Mostly internal Um it's really consistent powder charged The bullets are really really perfect Um and this is even the really good Stuff this is just good it's not great So it's not trash it's not this But yeah you'll see and um I've only Ever run match jam on this Barrel I Won't put copper plated stuff in ever Because copper is actually what sticks To barrels worse it kind of lays like a Foil layer almost and that's that's Pretty pretty hard to clean too so this Is just raw lead uh really consistent Shots but you want to shoot it yeah heck Yeah I want to shoot it let's get this Bag back so like you're in the military So like someone else will pay for my Ammunition Foreign And uh maybe try we'll run some rounds Through all of them we got safety on

See I can walk it in I was in artillery All right so let's see let's send it how Far does this thing go 240. oh you're cheating up there you Want to shoot you want to shoot the 240 Meters with the 22. yes I do metal let's Do it let's do this yeah freaking bug Crawling on my viewfinder turn to my View I've had a lot of glasses and stuff And the spine scope I'm sorry I've had Them on my glasses and the swatting Scope dude they're crawling my ears and Everything else Okay I got the The I got the camera on the 240 metal Steel Target Ready Here it goes ready yep This time Just right it's like farting Right again boy Here we go High I don't know it's why it's so high It was high in the in the beginning I can hear it's interesting here That was like a few seconds dude again I Was talking in my big mouth okay here we Go Do yeah It's like a two second time delay that's Like 100 meters a second all right So you're hearing that the lay is My pistol yeah that'll be a little hard Maybe we'll see what it can do
Last time I shot it ready So holding the bottom Like maybe bottom third but a half mil Left okay That looks nice half mil left so I'm Basically on the edge of the target Bottom third yep Oh I saw it hit the branch behind it That was really I can't tell where it Was it was like barely off So I know where now they know where it's Hitting I know where to haul ready Thank you Just under it yeah Ready To go get it right Edge see that yeah I'll do that again where are you holding I've never shot it uh basically a full Meal left Center yes okay I've never Shot a 22 that far in fact I think uh Those 550 yards in competitions oh That's awesome I'm down trying that That'd be fun okay I understand it Yeah You're holding a whole Mill left yeah I'm holding the whole Mill left and I'm Hitting on the right so hold them one Point let's see if I did about 1.25 and It's probably centered yeah I'll try it Again Ready Right just below the neck yeah yeah That's awesome Okay so yeah let's run a couple of
Rounds through the other ones as well Okay let's just see what happens here That's it fun I can see him hit high right I can see it bumping off the thing [Applause] [Music] What are you what toy have you this guy Has a little uh I've got a I haven't had A ballistic calculator for this but Long All right let's see what we got on this One I'll hit the 50 again nice and close The black one again yeah you ready Hold on Focus Okay Foreign [Laughter] Uh this is 20 bucks yeah they're crap Rounds but they'll kill this was 6.99 Subsonics and my really nice stuff six Seven bucks for the same size and that's Not bad it's really good ammo that's not Really bad at all So I love the arguments about what's the Ultimate gun I think the answer is they All work right I like that I'm yellow Um I like the 22 because It's lightweight I grew up killing Squirrels with it all over the place It's really underrated too yeah and I Think I don't know if there's any way to Prove this but it's my understanding That the majority of poached deer are
Shallow 22s yeah probably so and I also Know that the air force their original Survival guns were 22s and 410 shotguns And the 410 shotguns were for like Knocking Birds down or knocking uh Um squirrels out of a tree but then they Could put a 45 Long Colt in the 410 Shotgun And then you're gonna shoot a moves yeah And then everything else gets to 22. and I I think there's some value to that Mike I love shotguns and I did shotguns As my survival gun for a long time but You run out of ammunition fast yeah Right like how to carry a lot too yeah I Don't know what I'm gonna say 30 rounds in that space right or 325 of them in that space and the Reality is I'll take I'll take the Little plastic ones those CCI Stingers Yeah and I'll reload them with my crap Ammunition You know or get a small gatorade bottle Clean it out throw it up throw it in a Pocket um I I do honestly think the 22 Is one of the best survival rounds out There Um some ridiculously cool things can Happen So yeah some really long range Things can be done with that and a basis Prepare comparison I don't really have a Way to show up but We can zoom right up with that
Nightforce scope on the 240 meter Target I couldn't see it and I had my uh Red Dot dialed all the way down I really Couldn't see the target with the Red Dot So there's almost no hope of me hitting 240 meters with that but a lot of people Get into the argument about uh guns Being self-defense things when I say Survival I'm not really thinking Self-defense right but if I'm slinging Let at you at 240 meters with this 22 Are you going to be up and dancing or Laughing at me no eventually it's going To hit right I think in like the most Extreme cases you know crazy you know Government shutdown crazy crazy stuff You can ear hole a deer and it's just oh It lights out yeah I mean the other Thing too is the majority of deer that You run into are the dough and the Fawn That aren't afraid of you and again if You're starting to death I'm shooting One of those I'm gonna shoot the Neighbor's cat sorry So when it comes to 22s uh suppressed Game getter like that or a presser on Again get her like this or Backpacker or even my kids Savage youth Uh single shot suppress and that is Stupidly quiet when I put subsonic Ammunition on that because there's no Action it's like no moving action Yeah Yeah well yeah it's nothing then nothing Loud it's not it doesn't have that metal
