Medicine this is primarily a medicine Kit yes correct correct and this is a Very good uh website and company that Does this there's an emergency room Physician who talks to you and gets Information so that this is tailored to What you want one of the big pluses that When we did this is that the doctor Asked specific questions and asks what Are you going to be doing are you going To be hiking in the United States are You going overseas where are you going To be are you going to be in a malaria Situation oh yeah or you may need to That particular information so it's very Customized to what you want and of all The companies that really this is one of The strengths of this company cool well I'm going to ask you to kind of go Through some of the medicines I want to Remind everybody that we're referring to Duration Health Durationhealth.com very simple is the Website let's crack it open show us what We got okay this is a basic kit and this Has a pretty much Um General things and in talking to the Doctor or whoever you're talking to at The site they ask you questions and Customize the kit there are some general Antibiotics that are in here that are Common and commonly used for things Ciprofloxacin or Cipro I know most Patients and I've heard of that yes and
You're familiar with it prednisone so if You have an allergic reaction to Something or you're having an asthma Attack or you're getting a bunch of bee Stings or bug bites and you have a lot Of swelling it will help for that Doxycycline is a good drug this is like Tetracycline and it's used for skin Infections methicillin resistant staph Aureus which is a staph infection so It's helpful for that the azithromat Azithromycin is Zithromax and a lot of People are familiar with that if you get Bronchitis that's what it is that's Exactly what it is and so that'll help You if you have a pneumonia or something Like that that's not viral and as you Know a lot of times people get sick and They want an antibiotic but the doctor Is usually trying to figure out is it a Bacterial infection that needs this or Is it something you can just take Um simple over-the-counter meds for okay The uh the next is ofloxacin in and this Is similar to the ciprofloxacin it's in The same drug class but it's a little More Geared for things like urinary Infections and other things like that The other things in the kit also include Flagyl or metronidazole this is Something that is used for parasitic Infections it's also used for anaerobic Infections so things like in your in Your mouth you know the the things that
Cause funny odors things in your GI Tract if you get an infection and you Get an anaerobic infection it can become Life-threatening quickly so this is a Good drug for that and then the last one Here is what they call Augmentin is the Trade name but it's amoxicillin Clavulanate okay so that's the generic For that and that's a combination and This is more useful in in patients who Have had something that might be a staph Infection that's a little bit resistant So it's a little bit useful for that Triamcinolone cream is basically a Steroid cream for poison ivy for bug Bites and stings and things like that Um also in the kit is an anti-nausea Medicine called ondansetron or Zofran This is very useful it's common nowadays We use it in the hospital all the time And it's a pill that that dissolves Under your tongue so if you're nauseous You don't have to try to swallow Something with some water when you're Just about ready to throw up wow okay Let me go back one time real quickly This ofloxacin is actually an eye drop And this is one of the few kits that Offers that so if you get an eye Infection pink eye or you um poke Yourself with a stick when you're out There in the in the woods or you're you Know cutting through the brush yeah and Something poachy in the eye and you
Start to have a problem if you're you Know 20 miles from the nearest hospital This is something you can use for a few Days it'll hold things at Bay again I'm Not an ophthalmologist neither are you But this is something that you can use Interesting and it comes in a neat pack What's what do we have down here Underneath is just an extra extra Compartment if you wanted to have Additional drugs you needed additional Things there's additional space for more Medication okay and I see a field guide There as well and this is actually very Comprehensive this is really good if You're out in the bush And you can look at things the one Downside is you need to have your Reading glasses because it's in fine Print and it is very comprehensive so it Does refer back and forth to different Things but if you don't have much Medical training it may take a few Minutes to navigate through that well I'm I'm just overwhelmed that there is Such a camp with all these medicines now This work this is let's explain how this Works because medicine requires a Prescription so how does that work when You want to purchase this kit you go to The website okay and this is also at all Of the other ones as well you'll go to Durationhealth.com they put you in touch With there's some an intake form
Initially and then that puts you in Touch with a doctor so that you have a Consultation visit and they ask you About your allergies and some other Things and also customize it to where You're going to be are you going to be In the country are you going to go Somewhere else they actually will Customer are you going to be traveling They might change out what would they Change out for instance well they may Add some things like we talked about Before if you're going to be in South America or an Ecuador tutorial area you May need an anti-malarial medicine oh Yeah or you may need another Antiparasitic medicine in addition to The Flagyl something like An anti-parasitic potential okay but Again it's an anti-parasitic and it can Be useful for multiple things and so They can customize this to what you are Going to be doing wow and so it's it's Very helpful and also what's important If you have certain allergies for Example there are people who are Allergic to ciprofloxacin and so you Can't have that they would substitute Something else okay great there's also Over-the-counter meds that came in the Kit they're not here on the table for Things like Tylenol okay Benadryl for You know people with allergic reactions Or if you have asthma yeah and so those
