[Music] Foreign [Music] Hey guys today we're talking about less Lethal self-defense Survival Solutions And this is the Berna 12 gauge kinetic Round now this is most Innovative less Lethal shotgun technology we've seen in A long time it's a 61 caliber fintailed Sabo type projectile package inside of a Two and three quarter inch shotgun shell Now when you fire it the clam shell Separates the fin Tails spin that Projectile so that it remains stable in Flight Berna says it's accurate to more Than 100 feet with a velocity of 312 Feet per second and delivering 20 joules Of energy to the Target now if you don't Know what that means and I really didn't Know what it meant in the beginning After my research I found a comparison That's nearly twice the energy of the Standard 68 caliber less lethal round Ball used by law enforcement agencies Today in their shotguns so it's designed So it won't punch through flesh it can Be used at close range without fear of Lethal penetration Also these rounds are super quiet and Supposedly you can shoot it without ear Pro it only produces about 115 decibels Of noise and as a comparison that's Quieter than a kid's cap gun of course These rounds are not meant to replace
Lethal Force if needed but there are Great less lethal solution for Shotgunners who have an application for This type of round now I had a chance to Shoot some of these rounds through one Of my shotguns recently and I tested it For accuracy also with ballistic gel Representing human flesh because I Wanted to see if it would penetrate or Not it's not supposed to and we also had Some fun shooting steel targets with it So we could kind of really actually see In person what kind of force it creates And by the way this round is designed For 12 gauge pump action shotguns with Standard silver cylinder board barrels Or through an improved cylinder choke I Used my Remington 870 cylinder board Barrel 18 and a half inch barrel with a Basic front bead sight and we're going To roll the video check it out hey Excuse my Spanish moss down here in Florida uh lovely day down here to test Some products and the Berna less lethal Kinetic round very interesting here's a Close-up You see the stabilizing fins looks like A bomb Stabilizes as it travels through the air It's packaged in a clam shell And the clamshell separates when it Comes out the end of the barrel When it's sitting inside of the shell It sits in it like this
And it's only powered by a primer All right guys we are ready to test the Berna less lethal kinetic shotgun round I got my Remington 870 not supposed to Penetrate human flesh so I've got a Ballistic gel block here to test that It's supposed to be around a little over 300 feet per second got my chronograph We're going to test velocity I want to Test for accuracy as well shooting it at A Target and I just love to shoot steel So I've got to shoot steel.com Target Here I'm going to see what this round Does on this steel Target and all around Just have some fun and see what it's Like here we go all right guys testing For velocity here is the first shot And here we go 89 feet per second super super quiet Let's do another one first one was 289 All right it's definitely less than 300 Feet per second at least with my shotgun In my environment today All right so next up we're going to Shoot some ballistic gel here and make Sure it does not penetrate here we go All right Well that was interesting this is Actually it it did not penetrate All right guys I've got three shells Loaded I'm gonna step back to 10 yards And shoot for the center a Zone Cool so 10 yard accuracy looking pretty Good I would I was actually aiming right
About there and those were my hits so I'm going to go back to 20 yards and Check the accuracy there 20 yards all Right guys I'm 20 yards away I've got a Fresh Target up I'm going to aim for the Uh sensor a Zone again I'm shooting my Remington 870 Express cylinder board Barrel just got a b side on the front And uh let's see how accurate it is at 20 yards So at 20 yards I got a I got a low hit Down here On this I was aiming here And there's my impact and so you know That makes me wonder a little bit about The energy that's going to transfer so Next we're going to shoot some steel Targets and see what kind of energy that This round can transfer Just want to kind of see what kind of Energy we're transferring I've got a 10 Inch sheet steel plate here uh that's Mounted on Springs uh see if we can see If we can rock this steel and if all Goes well maybe we'll try this resetting Popper and see if we can actually get Some movement when I shoot this with Nine millimeter I get some definite Movement let's see what happens with the Shotgun shell I've got three rounds left So I got to make a count All right we definitely run some steel I've got my impact Mark there and uh From the sound of it it sounds like it
Would hurt definitely so uh let's try This resetting popper and see if we can Get some movement out of it that's Really going to tell me something about Energy All right well you heard that the sound Of uh Ricochet I had a hit down there my Second hit was there and I just moved This plate just a little bit but you Know it's only supposed to transfer About 20 joules of energy and you know So this round is meant to be a deterrent Um and a less lethal deterrent round so You can deter something bad from Happening I suppose from a distance uh At 10 yards it seems to be most Effective and uh I don't know I got to Think about this and draw a conclusion So let's talk about the testing and what Happened Uh kind of lived up to its claims uh it Claimed 312 feet per second we had a Little less velocity than that 280s 250s And so less velocity translates to less Transfer of energy less transfer of Energy means what possibly less Deterrent right so something to keep in Mind uh it claimed it was accurate to 100 feet my testing found that it's most Effective and accurate at 30 feet or 10 Yards uh when we went back to 20 yards We had a significant drop in velocity With and a low impact and I would assume A lot less energy as well that Spanish
Moss is really getting me today so Something else to keep in mind Very little There's there was no recoil whatsoever Guys by the way I was wearing my safety Glasses these are made by Hunter's Gold Um I swear by them anytime you're Shooting a projectile where's safety uh Ipro guys uh even though I didn't need Air pro today I want to protect my eyes We did have some Ricochet stuff going on As well so make sure you wear ipro at All times when shooting any kind of Projectile No recoil at all I mean it's just a Primer powered Sounded like a cap gun actually less Than a cap gun when you shoot when you Shoot out of a long-barreled firearm Things are perceptively quieter from Your end because all that energy and Sound is being transferred through the Barrel and out so very quiet no recoil Whatsoever uh you know we shot the Ballistic gel it did not penetrate you Know the first few inches of ballistic Gel is meant to represent human flesh And a little bit of clothing so no Penetration so lived up to its claim There a little less velocity so it Didn't quite live up to its velocity Claim energy transfer so we shot target We shot steel targets Um
We did get a little a little bit of Motion in the Target Um I suppose there's some scientific way To measure that energy transfer I don't Have the capability to do that but by Shooting steel I can see if we can Actually activate move that steel around And so forth so very very interesting This round this uh Berna less lethal Kinetic round I am going to be so Anxious to see your comments to see what You guys think about less lethal stuff What you think about this as an Application and uh you know they say It's legal in all 50 states but there Are shipping restrictions in many Different states you can go to the Burner website we'll have a link below So you can check it out and uh learn More and details watch more videos and Things like that if you're curious about This but I'm curious about your comments And what you think as always thanks for Watching hit those comments let me know Guys looking forward to it [Music]
