Hey guys welcome to survival Dispatch News now usually we have a sponsor for Sdn but due to the unfortunate Circumstances uh recently especially in Western New York we really just wanted To bring some things to your attention That could pertain to you as far as your Survival if you're in a similar Unfortunate circumstances stay tuned [Music] Chris the headline says it all and we're Kind of in a we're in a bit of a somber Mood today here with survival Dispatch News because we're discussing this Particular incident and the headline Reads Buffalo woman22 dies in Blizzard After sending chilling final video to Her family and essentially tell us Essentially what happened Well my understanding is is that this Family moved to North Carolina I believe The parents had divorced or separated And she came from North Carolina back to Buffalo because her father had fallen Ill needed somebody to tend to him And she got stuck in this horrible big Snowstorm right around Christmas And the snow was so extreme that it Actually plugged up the exhaust and the Carbon monoxide came inside and Unfortunately cost her life and she was In this for 18 hours Wow this is uh and Dale I hope I'm Pronouncing her her name right ndel
Taylor 22 years old uh she was stranded In the snow there was a blizzard Friday Afternoon uh Western New York Particularly in the Buffalo area was Terrible uh snow I got up to like I Think it's up to like six feet now Essentially at the time of this video They've actually banned travel highway Travel in in that area because of the Conditions but um you know I want to Talk about this as it relates to Survival and what we can do and what our Viewers can think about because not Everybody lives down here in sunny Florida although it did get a little Chilly not nearly these type of Conditions but I'm holding in my hand Here Something that may have saved that young Girl's life but let's talk about a Little bit more about those Circumstances so obviously she was cold It was probably below freezing Temperatures her car was running The the news tell us to us that she died Of carbon monoxide poisoning because the Snow essentially plugged the exhaust Exhaust couldn't escape I assume flowed Back into the car Do you think she would have survived if She'd cracked her windows Uh I don't know and I mean hard to say I Think it was such a long period of time 18 hours stuck in one spot most likely
Scared but my understanding is that some Of the family members had reached out to The police and whatnot they couldn't Find her you know it was just a you know Hellacious storm this was part of what They were calling you know the weather Bomb that affected the whole you know Northern part of the country yeah so I Don't know I mean I think From our perspective if there's Even any small little tiny positive Thing that could potentially come out of This is just to raise awareness yeah That it's just so important to have some Element of survival knowledge and some Survival tools at your disposal in your Car some sort of emergency kit Because in a case like this where the First Responders either can't find you Or can't get to you yeah to have a have A chance to survive this is an absolute Tragedy yeah we can live without food For a while we can't live without water For very long so that's for a thing that Pops into my mind is water a source to Stay warm so you know keep water in your Vehicle this is just me talking off the Cuff keep water in your vehicle if you Leave in these cold areas these are Awesome they're cheap they're they're so Cheap they're available this is a Survival blanket it's a mylar material It just reflects the heat back onto your Body that's so cheap it's cheap
Insurance 99 Cents Um yeah I've got a packet I actually I Actually have a packet in my in my truck Right now I think we reviewed one Manufacturer of these on Survival Dispatch but it's uh Communications Extra batteries What else what else what kind of advice Can we throw out there to folks and Imagine that she didn't have enough fuel To even to idle for 18 hours Then it may have been a situation of you Know freezing to death or something Along those lines so yeah some sort of You know battery backup little power you Know bank or something to keep your Phone charged up and to stay in Communication with the you know the rest Of the world Some form of shelter like this you know It reflects about 90 percent of your Your body heat Um it always should always have water in Your vehicle yep we carry protein bars And stuff like that as well I'm not Saying any of that would have saved this Poor girl's life you know it's again We're just trying to raise some Awareness that Um this terrible situation for her Family and it's incomprehensible to Think of being stuck in the snow and 18 Hours later somebody's lost their life Yeah just sitting there you know sort of
