Today I'm going to teach you how to tie Two knots a square knot a sheet Bend Knot I'm going to try to show you really Slowly clearly and meticulously so that By the time this short video is finished You'll have both knots down pat [Music] All right so the reason I'm going to Show show you how to tie two knots at Once is because both the square knot the Sheep and not have really similar form And identical functionality so the basic Application is if you have you know two More than one row and not not your UPS Are long enough to do the job you need To tie the ropes together you want to Tie them together with a proper knot Square knot or sheet Bend knot are you Knots of choice Um that the square Knot's a little bit Easier to tie but the sheet Bend knot it It has a little bit more robust of a Hold so if especially if you're tying Different kinds of ropes dissimilar Materials or different diameters of Ropes you probably want to go with the Sheet pen just to make sure that you Know your your splice is gonna gonna Hold all right Let's get at it All right so we have two ropes and we Want time together first we're going to Time together with a square knot so We're going to take one end of one of
The ropes Make a loop and like this Take the next second rope We go down into the loop And bring it up over the top Then you go back down under the loop Bring it back out That's Grana See how it kind of looks square So you basically have two looped ends of The Rope holding holding together Now you have long rope so two short ones All right let's do that again So make a loop in one end of the one of The ropes Take the other one Put them down into the loop Bring it up over the top And come back up through the bottom of The loop Look at that it was quite hot okay one More time Foreign First drop Make a loop Take the second row There we go Down into the loop Come back up over the top And go back down onto the bottom Come back up through the loop again There we go That's the scrotum All right you're ready to hoist your
Sails or whatever it is you're gonna do All right all right now we're going to Tie our ropes together using a sheet Bend So she been not we started out the same Way as a square knot we make a loop We Come up through the loop like this We go around just like we're gonna make A square knot upside down Okay Bend back and it's if we if we put it Back in and tighten it would be a square Nut upside down from the way we just did But we're not going to go back in we're Going to go under this row That's a sheet Bend Okay let's tie it one more time so we Start by making A loop just like we're going to do a Square knot all right And we we're going to come up through The loop And go back behind Come back around Now if we if we went back down we could Have a square knot but we're not going To make a square knot we're going to go Under this row Like that That's a sheet Bend knot Okay one more time I know this was Complicated it looks like a big old Tangled mess doesn't it
