Throwing me under the bus Hope you're not watching Cindy I have I Have probably I was counting we were Talking before 30 35 pocket knives I Don't know I don't think you can have Enough of them Um my first pocket knife as a child my Grandfather gave my first knife probably When I was six or seven years old when We were really started going hunting Fishing together a lot in Southern Illinois and I just it was if I didn't Have a pocket I'm carrying two of them Right now if I didn't have a pocket Knife in my pocket or attached to me Somewhere I would not feel good but Today we're talking about a really cool Pocket knife this is the tecto F1 Alpha I feel like I just asked for approval to Take off from a military Air Base in my Fighter jet it's got such a such a Military name while we're at Volusia Top Gun Denny we are at Volusia Top Gun by The way big shout out to volusion Top Gun here in Daytona Beach uh check them Out if you're ever in the area Chris Really awesome pocket knife Um I'm only gonna guess without looking At your review that you gave this knife A really nice review but we're going to Go over all that Criterion let's just Jump right into it we have these 10 Parts of criteria That we hold for all of our products so
We kind of set that Baseline and uh we End up giving them a number out of out Of a hundred at the end of this criteria So reviewing this knife let's just jump Right in shipping by the way this is I Should back up a little bit And let's just talk about a couple of Talking points about this knife first Off it feels really light because why Carbon fiber grip carbon fiber grip so That gives it the strength but but a Really light feel now sometimes when you Flip open a cheap pocket knife you feel A little slop you feel a little uh like A little play little wobbly zero play Zero wobble so it feels high quality uh What kind of kind of Blade we got here Uh it's D2 steel titanium coated Titanium coated D2 steel so you know When you're picking out knives uh You need to I would suggest that you Educate yourself a little bit on uh the Metal that you're dealing with the type Of Steel that you're dealing with Because you have hardness levels and Things that are going to dictate how Long the edge is going to last on your Blade how long the blade itself is going To last uh D2 good stuff so 60 rating For hardness right so so you have it so I have a you have a very solid hardness Rating on this knife uh just a couple of Little details I see a lanyard ring here That's more than a lanyard ring what
Else is it that's glass breaker that's Right it's got a little little Edge on It so you got a glass breaker as well The cool thing about you can really tell The quality in some of these knives when You look feel the serrations you can Tell when they're cheaply manufactured There would be kind of sharp sometimes The serrations will be a little too deep Here we've got just enough it's kind of Like the grips on on handguns you don't Want it to tear your hands up same story Here when you're talking about these Knives when you I assume they contacted You first to do this review okay so once You made the agreement to uh for us to Do this review on Survival dispatch how Long did it take for shipping of this Knife two days two days super fast yeah Super fast Um it's not always that fast I know I've Ordered stuff in the past I just ordered Some stuff from uh a company in California And they shipped it to me in four four Days where's this company located do you Remember I'll look it up on the website pretty Sure this came out of a Tennessee Location okay could be wrong but that's My recollection gotcha before this Review is over we'll tell you these Where these folks are from here so uh Shipping you gave it a five out of five
Criteria number two is packaging uh Sturdiness we've got the boxes out front Here I'm gonna step out here and kind of Talk about the boxes you also have a Case a little nylon sheath tell us a Little bit about your impressions on the Packaging the sturdiness the appearance Etc because you gave it a really high Score It's a clean clean package I mean it's Nice box whatever But there was no shipping damage you can See none of the edges are smashed on the Boxes you know not the biggest deal in The world that's why it's only worth Five points but the carrying case it Came with you know it fits on your belt Loop nice little value add from uh you Know the way it was packaged conserved So again it's not the number one Criteria that's why we only give up Five Points we do that because a lot of stuff Gets damaged in shipping this didn't get Damaged in shipping To Five Points cool I want to talk about This just a little bit most of us will Carry our pocket knives in our pocket With a little clip there are times when These things do come in handy if you do Order this knife don't throw this away Because if you're going to be working in A a cold environment want to keep your You're wearing multiple layers you might Want to put this on your belt sort of
Outside of outside the waist so that you Have a little quicker access to it so These even though uh even though some People may think these are unnecessary Sometimes they come in very very handy So let's move along and talk about the Website description I've got the website On my phone right now Chris and I've Been looking at it because even though You've done most of the research on These knives I I halfway want to know What I'm talking about and I want to Know the right questions to ask and I'm Looking at the website shows the prices The different accessories that you can Get the different types of knives you Can get they even have blogs for people Who want to talk about knives so what Did you think about the website because Obviously you thought a lot about it Because you gave it a perfect score There's just enough information you know Somebody wants technical specs they're There You know and the basic information on D2 Steel titanium coated blade uh It's not that complicated but They describe the product well really The the way we score this website Accuracy is expectation management If a website oversells a product and Then we get our hands on it it performs Below that then it gets a lower score on This if it sets expectations level that
The product can meet or exceed then we Scored a little bit higher gotcha the Website is a fairly quick read it sets Expectations properly that's why we gave It a score a 10 out of 10. cool cool uh We already kind of talked about the Appearance of the product but that's Actually one of the criteria product Appearance and Aesthetics or how it Looks how how it's uh how it's presented Uh I really even just now noticed the Logo on the clip uh you obviously liked It as well because you gave a really High score I I mean I love knives I love Expensive knives like microtex we hadn't Mentioned yet but 119 120 yep is a Really good price point for a knife of This quality it's it's on If it's not a Microtech level it's darn Close yeah I would agree having I'm Carrying a Microtech right now as well As another brand of knife and I'd have To agree 100 with you on that if you go And you do comparisons on knives uh of Similar quality D2 steel titanium coated Uh carbon fiber uh construction uh with A sturdy clip like this first off you're Gonna have a hard time finding something In comparison for this price you you can Easily find knives for 200 bucks in this Configuration and I found them what do You scoff an actress you can spend five Six seven hundred dollars no way really Yeah wow okay or more so not only am I
Correct not that I not that I've ever Done that not that you've ever done ever So obviously you spend a whole lot more Money than 119.99 for a knife of this Quality so all right cool let's talk About the instructions well do you Really need instructions Chris it's a Pocket knife it's a folding knife you Know it operates just like any other Folder does Um So Probably the most important thing in the Instructions honestly is to keep this Type type of Blade oil okay you know That they mentioned in there other than That it's really straightforward unless Somebody's never operated a folding Knife yeah You know yeah so when something's Engineered to these tolerances uh it is Important to keep them lubricated a Little bit right it's not sloppy it's Not like there's a lot of room in there If you get a little debris or something In there uh that I can see the Importance of keeping it slightly Lubricated as well I didn't put a Micrometer on any of these pieces but This is a very precision machine piece Of equipment yeah you can tell it just The way it operates it is a tight tight Knife I bought knives that are a lot More than 120 that don't operate
I can't even make this place there's no Play no like actually they're they're QA QC before they check out like they have When they discuss the warranty coverage On their website They essentially say look like we have Very tight qaqc and these are you know Quality precision machine tools and they Are in our experience I mean I've got These a week ago been using one for an EDC and uh I bought much more expensive Knives that underperform relative to Those yeah gotcha so we pretty much Already talked about the next criteria Which is ease of use incredibly smooth Operation easy to use you almost gave it A perfect score you gave it a 9 out of 10. So I don't know if it's just the way That I operate knobs or if it's the Weight because it's so lightweight Um I might be a little bit picky but it's It's a little bit slow on the opening Unless you really flick your rest into It like that I see what you mean Um you know I've got a lot of knives That open a lot faster than that I think It's honestly as a weight deal because This is so light with the carbon fiber Just doesn't have the inertia behind it That's some other knives do but again I Mean I still gave it a nine out of ten It's for 120 dollars it's a really
Decent quality folder well that leads me To another question it's for 120 bucks What kind of warranty does this have Well 100 satisfaction but only 14 days And I get it I mean because they stayed On their website that they have very Um you know comprehensive qaqc you know Quality Service quality control but I Think 14 days is a little bit too shy so For example you know Cindy and I work Out of town frequently as a matter of Fact you know last night it's the first Time we've been home in a couple weeks And I think 14 days a little bit too Skinny that's why I gave it a eight out Of tenant you know I'd like to see at Least a 30 day 30 to 60 days would be Better I understand that so jumping uh To our next criteria which is overall Quality and value you gave it a perfect Score yeah because for 120 dollars the The chances that you're going to find a Knife of this quality are not that great Um like I said you could spend a lot More money than that to get a knife That's not as good a quality as this Particular product I'm telling him since I first laid hands and I thought man These guys have really got their [ __ ] Together pardon my French but yep very Tight Precision cool how about customer Service that's our next criteria product Support everything with these guys has Been super fast the initial discussions

To impress us much these days I'm Impressed well I think this is a good Time to add an additional comment we do Handle a lot of products and they never Make it to the stage that's a very good Point so you probably don't realize that By watching this uh we have the right to Turn products down and and you have Turned products now actually probably 50 Of the products we turn down Um We don't want to do we don't want to Excoriate somebody and nuke their Business uh but by the same Pilgrim We're not going to even do a review Unless we feel that it's a halfway Decent product so I mean there's a lot Of stuff comes in Denny and it is cheap Foreign made stuff and it's sloppy and It's nowhere near this level of quality And so we don't want to waste people's Times with reviews on junk to be quite Frank yeah I don't want to watch Somebody reviewing a piece of junk and Saying it's it's great and fantastic Knowing that it's not yeah and we don't Accept any money at all we have plenty Of Manufacturers offer to pay us to Promote their product to review their Product and feature them zero zip NADA We don't take a penny we don't want to Take a penny because then it skews the Pitcher yeah for sure so you know if we Get behind a project like this like 9.6
