Oh top you killing it you good you cold Yeah [Music] Okay so we're gonna we're up here Getting ready for a winter survival Class we're doing the pre-run and Staging uh army tents and Fuel and just Stuff and the kids are freezing colds That's what they do so we're gonna make A fire real quick I'm gonna talk really Quick about how to make fire in sloppy Wet sweaty been pulling a snowmobile all Over the all over the place condition We've got Juniper and pine trees Um if you look underneath it you're Gonna have live green and dead this Stuff right here Hear how crunchy that is that's dead It's dead Gray and standing so if you just pull This dead stuff off you can see how it's Gray you're basically pruning the tree It's actually good for the tree if it Gets super bendy and it doesn't Immediately snap like that it's green And you don't want it so this is going To be my initial Kindling not my Tinder Tinder I need is Smaller than this We're going to use this stove later So for now I'm gonna load it up all Right So I'll be back Um
I'm gonna go grab a bunch of Tinder We'll put some kindling and then some Fuel in it start a fire real quick Kelton here Kelton mcgelton better known as The Big Ds He Was asking me about Tinder okay Tinder Is the finest stuff that's what your Flame will grab to get kindling burning Which will then burn fuel tender Kindling fuel so All of these trees up here that are dead Not the green ones are dry on the inside They're basically freeze-dried Um So even when it's In 90 percent of the environments you Know minus the jungle and Vancouver You when you get into a tree like this It's got ice on the outside but the Inside is going to be Dead and gray I just pulled this off That tree over there so what you'll do Is you'll cut in slide down and then cut In so you cut it see that is super dead Which is good That's freeze-dried dead So cut in slide down This might even be some fat wood You want these little curlies this is so Dead that it's hard to make the curlies That's a good sign so we're gonna just Load this up tender fuel kindling okay
So I'm going to cut it off I'm gonna Make a bunch of feather sticks we're Going to throw it in and start a fire Down here we can get me Okay so I have not quite enough I have not quite enough feather sticks Um I can make more feather sticks you want A bundle like this of feather sticks Gross Overkill your feather sticks big Long pieces get the dry stuff on the Inside of the tree it's okay to carve The bark off the outside just get rid of It let it fall away then start making Your feather sticks from in there Um we're in a hurry and I have extra so I'm going to use a thing of this uh Hell's fire It's Magic hell's fire gives some gross Overkill Uh Isaiah that owns Sopo survival send Me some of this stuff it's frozen you Can drop it in the snow put it in a Bucket of water And it's kind of waxy so all you got to Do is pull it apart There we go dropping it Just pull it apart Um Spread it out so it's kind of fibrous And then hit it with a lighter right see There's fibers on the inside of it And even if I dropped in the water it's Not like the water is going to penetrate
The outside to shake it off and pull it Apart so it's all Waxy it's like if you put a bunch of Dryer lint in a wax ball and added some Flammable magic to it I don't even know what's in this stuff That smells like deer I seriously smelled like a dead deer Smell that Give it a test to prove it works I could Entirely just be my hands Okay so I'm gonna just use some of this Stuff because I've got it Um I've got the the feather sticks right There let's spread some of this stuff Out a little bit it's right on top of The feather sticks Um the thin kindling on top with the Stuff started quick now I have multiple Lighters I already gave him one of my lighters I've got many more I've gotten my vest I Call it my uh survival vest jokingly if I can get it out of here Because inside my survival vest is many Lighters Foreign Get that underneath there Once it goes It goes and it'll basically dry out All this super wet sticks and stuff I've Got in here Like I put it out that was my fault [Music]
Man oh That was like just kidding there for a Second [Music] [Applause] All this white is wet so it's like Massive amounts of water that it's Burning out here right so you think that Smoke that's all water from the wet fuel That we're using Coming out the pump and everything There you go Hold that Hopefully that drives that fuel out Enough it'll actually light and stay lit Because right now it's just not lighting Up What's that called Hit hell's fire that Was firing yeah This candling this all this fuel is so Wet it's not taking off You need some more undergrowth yeah give Me some of the little crunchies [Music] Thank you I wonder what the temperature is It's probably not pizza somewhere third Is the worst It looks snowing pretty bad though 27 30.
